employees work away from their home base and in foreign countries, there
is often a void in record-keeping. The employee does not belong in either
the local (ie host country) HRIS or the one in his/her own country. He/she
is often overlooked in headcount reports and items such as leave and
general record-keeping. Complete HRIS products will have an expatriate
component facility that enables administration of expatriate staff.
